Summary of the Role:
The Online English Educator (Phonics & Early Literacy) is responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, and interactive online classes for children aged 4 to 8 years. The educator will be a key contributor to fostering a joyful and structured virtual learning environment, with a strong emphasis on phonics, literacy, and language development. This role demands expertise in early childhood education, digital fluency, and a creative approach to online teaching.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct LIVE online interactive classes for early learners focusing on phonics, early literacy, storytelling, and guided reading.
- Create a playful, engaging, and safe virtual classroom environment, using innovative teaching strategies and digital tools.
- Prepare and deliver age-appropriate lesson plans aligned to VELs curriculum and pedagogy.
- Support individual student progress by identifying learning gaps and offering personalized guidance and remedial support.
- Drive session feedback, parent engagement, and regular updates on student progress.
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly targets related to class quality, student engagement, student counts..
- Collaborate with program managers, curriculum designers, and fellow teachers to constantly enhance the learning experience.
- Demonstrate adaptability to new digital tools, platforms, and gamified learning methods.
- Engage actively in teacher upskilling programs and quality audits.
Eligibility Criteria:
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in English, Education, Early Childhood Education, Arts, Psychology, or related field.
- Preferred: Master’s, B.Ed., NTT, ECCE, or Montessori certification.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 years of teaching English to early learners (Nursery to Grade 3) across CBSE, ICSE, or State Boards.
- Exposure to international early years curricula (IB PYP, EYFS, Montessori, Jolly Phonics) is an advantage.
- Prior EdTech experience (e.g., WhiteHat Jr., BYJU’S, etc.) preferred.
Certifications (Preferred):
TEFL, TESOL, Jolly Phonics, Cambridge TKT, Google Educator, or equivalent.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Language – Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi & Kannada
- Deep expertise in phonics, early literacy, storytelling, and language development.
- Proven ability to create interactive, engaging, and playful online sessions for young learners.
- Strong classroom management skills in virtual environments.
- Skilled in using digital platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom,Excel, google forms, etc.) and gamified learning methods.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills with children and parents.
- Passionate, energetic, empathetic, and creative approach to early years teaching.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a cross-functional team.
- High adaptability to a start-up culture and dynamic work environment.
